SUPERLEAGUE RESULTS- SEMI FINALS
SEMI-FINALS
Four Seamer teams made it through to the 2010 superleague semi-finals, played at Courtside last Sunday. Two sides lost, resulting in elimination, but Mens A and Mens C won and move through to next week’s grand final.
MENS A
Ballajura batted first after winning the toss and despite Seamer dominating early, Ballajura broke through to have honours even at 17 runs after 4 overs. Seamer continued to apply the pressure and took consistent wickets to leave the score just 3 runs higher 11 overs later. A late flurry took Ballajura to 38 but the honours were with Seamer. In reply, a couple of 10 run partnerships moved the score along before Matt Stiller and Will Lanca hit 23 to all but wrap up the contest. In the end it was Seamer by 6 runs to move into next week’s grand final.

MENS C
Seamer started strongly, holding Melville’s opening pair down before Melville’s second pair turned around their innings. The final two pairs saw them to 85 to have the game in the balance. In reply, Seamer moved along at about the required run rate throughout their innings, which set-up a thrilling finish. In the end, it was Matt Glamuzina and Liam Elliott who held their nerve under pressure for Seamer, to pass the score on the second last ball and record a thrilling 1 run win. Seamer progress to next Sunday’s grand final.

MASTERS
Bouncer made the early running, restricting Seamer’s opening two pairs to 14 and 9 before Glenn Blockey and Rob Stephen hit 28 to get Seamer back in the contest. The Rudrums then closed with 23 to see Seamer up to 74. Seamer started well in defence, restricting Bouncer’s opening pair to 10, but Bouncer was solid for the remainder of the innings and ran out 16 run winners.

MENS B
Bouncer batted first and batted Seamer out of the game by giving Seamer few chances in smashing 150 runs. Seamer lacked penetration and the fielding sharpness but came out batting positively. Haydn Jones and Brett Williams hit 30 opening up but the target proved far too much and the results was a comfortable 60 run win to Bouncer.
