SUPERLEAGUE

RESULTS

SEMI FINALS

Melville
hosted Semi Final day and of the five Seamer sides that made it there only the
Ladies managed a victory. Three of the losing sides had earned a double chance
so will be back on Friday for preliminary finals but Mens C bow out.

MENS A

Scott Brown and Vin Sandhu lost two early wickets for
Seamer but fought back well to finish with a 22 run partnership. The middle two
pairs also fought back from slow starts to make valuable contributions before
Australian stars Nick De Grys and Ty Hopes finished with a solid 24 run
partnership. Despite not batting overly well, Seamer had a defendable 79 runs
on the board and it was looking good enough after they held Ballajura’s first
pair to just 9. But their second pair came out swinging, punishing bad balls
and finished with 41. The last pair came in needing 12 and after the 13^th
over, they needed 18. They moved along nicely and with two balls to go scores
were tied. Unfortunately for the top placed Seamer, Ballajura hit a 2 and then
defended the last ball to win a tight one and go straight through to the grand
final. Seamer will play Courtside in the preliminary final on Friday.

LADIES

Ballajura
batted solidly throughout their innings and it wasn’t until late that Seamer
made any real inroads. The final score for the Panthers was a sizeable 92 runs.
The last couple of rounds for Seamer haven’t produced great batting displays
but today they reversed their recent form and put together a fantastic innings
of 146 runs to smash Ballajura by 54 runs. This great batting display sees Seamer
move into the preliminary final on Friday night.

MENS B

Seamer
made a great start thanks to Craig Winzer and Matt Holodny who hit 35 runs and
the brothers French followed up with 24 runs of their own. Top placed Ballajura
lifted their performance from that point and Seamer finished on 79. The
Panthers then came out and batted solidly and Seamer couldn’t manage to get any
kind of run on. The final result was a Ballajura win 118-79 and they’re through
to the grand final while Seamer will play in the preliminary final on Friday
against Bouncer.

MASTERS

Melville’s
batting was solid but Seamer couldn’t make themselves enough chances and their
bowling was too short in general. Top placed Melville finished on 124. Seamer
made steady progress with the bat but was always behind the eight ball and in
the end fell well short. Melville go straight through to the grand final while
Seamer will play Guildford in the preliminary final on Friday night.

MENS C

Seamer
took a couple of early wickets but then went into meltdown, missing several
chances in the field in stark contrast to their fielding performance against
the same team last week. Bouncer did as they pleased and finished on a mammoth
146 runs. With nothing to lose, Seamer came out positively with the bat and was
on target at the half way mark, thanks in particular to Brad Harris and Steve
Howell who hit 43 runs. The final two pairs also batted well but the target
proved just too big and they fell 24 runs short in what was a good run chase
still. Seamer bows out in 4^th place.

A new season of Indoor Mixed Netball starts at Seamers with afew weeks and its looks like it going to be a big one.

Even if you have never played before, or haven’t been on a netball court since primary school we can get you playing and enjoying netball again.

All skill levels are catered for.

Games cost just $63 a game per team, with no registration or nominations costs. Games are played on a Tuesday evening, with game times ranging between 6:15 and 9:15PM, and if you can’t play certain time slots we can organize games around that for you.

Plus we supply all the gear (such as bibs, etc) and umpires.
